Eco art fest: rewards and explanations

At the Cultural Center “Aquarius” on May 25, 2018, awards were given to the best participants of Eko Art Fest.

By the decision of the selector, in the competition part of the festival, in the category of fine art, the following authors participated: Vuk Đurić, Aleksandar Marković, Endrit Smajli, Uljber Isufi, Ellton Hajdari, Vesna Sekulić, Eva- Maria Preuhsler, Ardit Sadiku, Ivan Antić, Arbenita Ibrahimi, Škurta Rahmani, Arbnor Dibrani, Anđela Jordanović, Mihajlo Ristić, Mina Nikolić, Sanja Mrkić, David Pavlović, Aleksandar Glibetić.

The jury composed of Velimir Karavelic, Miljana Dunđerin and Zorica Sajić Radenković made the decision to award Vesna Sekulić and Anđela Jordanović equal award for the best art work at the Eco Art Fest. They received a plaque and a $ 100 cash grant.

Reasoning:
Work with the impression of the installation (Vesna Sekulić: The Black Ram and the dump in it) leaves a strong impression because it has a clearly conceived conception. In addition, it is in the function of the project, which is expected to affirm the ecological awareness and the unity of art.

Another work (Anđela Jordanović: A Nylon Knitted Act) also takes on a certain pastoralism, sprinkled with a naive and surreal poetry, as well as the unity of a thematic, but also refined artistic expression, in the function of affirmation of ecological consciousness.

By the selection of the selector, in the competition section of the festival, in the category of applied arts and fashion design, the following authors took part: Vuk Đurić, Benjamin Ibrahimi, Ranka Marković, Ana Ignjević, Guljšen Jakupi, Arsenije Mihajlović.

The jury composed of Đorđe Baščarević, Mira Janjetović, Natasa Elezović decided to share Vuk Đurić (T-shirt solution) and Benjamin Ibrahimi (solution for the leader) for the best performance at the Eco Art Fest, in the field of applied arts and fashion design. They received a plaque and a $ 100 cash grant.

Reasoning:
The participants of workshops for applied arts and fashion design, by their age and occupation, are very heterogeneous, have brought fresh ideas and innovations. Among the numerous works, the two were rewarded. Vuk Djuric’s work emphasized the complex way of production, visual qualities, and the original approach to advertising on a given topic. The work of Benjamin Ibrahimi is basically reduced, accurate and carries a message that is understandable at first glance.

By the selection of the selectors, in the competition section of the festival, in the category of photographs, the following authors took part: Milan Dobrić, Haris Ličina, Una Laurenčić, Vuk Đurić, Stefan Stevanović, Nikola Grujić.

The jury composed of Bojan Slavkovic, Predrag Radonjic, Goran Avramovic, Birol Urcan, Dzemil Islamovic, made the decision to receive Milan Dobric for the best photo at the Eco Art Fest. He received a plaque and a $ 100 cash grant.

Reasoning:
Photo by Milan Dobric “Pirit” depicts a desolation and a lifeless landscape that leaves behind the uncontrolled disposal of waste materials. The sumptuous atmosphere and coloration associate with post-apocalyptic scenes from science-fiction films. From the technical side of the photos there is a great composition and balance.

By the decision of the selector, in the competition section of the festival, in the category of film, four films are shown:
“Dogs”
Authors: Danilo Ceković and Miloš Dobrić
“Noah’s Ark”
Authors: Stefan Stojkovic and Nikola Zivic
“Sunflower”
Author: Ivan Antić
Tresh dance (“Dance by garbage”)
Authors: Eva-Maria Preuhsler and Benjamin Ibrahimi

The jury composed of Bojan Slavković, Predrag Radonjić, Goran Avramović, Birol Urcan, Džemil Islamović, decided to award the award for the best film at the Eco Art Festival to the authors of the film “Dogs”, Danilo Ceković and Milan Dobrić. The jury did not make a decision unanimously. Birol Urcan voted for the movie “Noah’s Boat”. They received a plaque and a $ 100 cash grant.

Reasoning:
SUNCOKRET. Solidly answered solidly on a subject, in a somewhat stereotyped way, more in the ranking of environmental advertising and advertising material than a short film. The whole work would be better with the original photographs.
THREE DENS. An original, simple and interesting approach, with one big mistake that influenced the ultimate film placement. After the girl cleans the garbage, the cut, followed by the appearance of a drunkard in the role of the dancer, is extremely burdened with a poor camera position. Praise the dancer and scriptwriters.
NOAH’S ARK. Correct camera, dynamic assembly. Insufficient “film” uttered story, finding the situation without showing the possible solution to the problem, at the border of the video made for an EKO campaign. I’m sure that by condensing the most competent staff, I would be able to modify a great promo clip from, say, 45 seconds.
PSI. A genuine approach that allows for the life of dogs of lutatants to show general neglect of the ecological situation in KM, devastated and polluted city, but also the struggle of rare enthusiasts to improve the situation. The well-established narrative structure of the film has resulted in an interesting and short, almost artistic documentary film, which on a few occasions burdens problematic nightly footage. A good, unpretentious montage, along with all the music, follows the story of a dog life in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The organizer of the festival decided to award this year special recognition to the participant of the Eko Art Festival whose work represents the biggest contribution to the environmental campaign. By the decision of the jury consisting of Srđan Kosanin, the Executive Director of the AZP, Miljana Dunđerin and Aleksandar Dunđerin from Cultural Center “Aquarium” and Jasmina Cvetić from UNMIK, Stefan Stojković and Nikola Živić received for the movie “Noah’s Boat”. They received a plaque and a $ 100 cash grant.

The Organizer of the Eco Art Fest is the “Joint Aid Action”, and co-organizer Cultural Center “Aquarius” from Kosovska Mitrovica. The festival is supported by UNMIK.
